Welcome to Telluride, Colorado, land of awe-inspiring terrain,
pleasant year 'round climate and a fascinating array of cultural
events, excellent dining and outrageous indoor and outdoor activities.
Undoubtedly, the bold lines of lofty peaks that make up the San
Juan Mountains are the primary building blocks of our resort community.
Gothic alpine landscape borders Telluride to the north and south
as well as from the east and west. The assemblage of stately mountain
peaks like Gray Head, Last Dollar, Whipple, Mendota, Ajax, Wilson
and Sunshine offer an unforgettable mountain experience for everyone.
What will really bring this sensation home, however, is Telluride's
new 733-acre addition, Prospect Bowl.
A $14 million investment has allowed Telluride to deliver the most
special, astonishing ski and scenic terrain presented in the ski
industry in years. Prospect Bowl will thrill beginner, intermediate
and expert skiers and boarders to no end. It will also enchant locals
and guests alike with its high-velocity beauty. The open bowls,
challenging chutes, inviting glades and spacious, bunny-hill boulevards
of Prospect Bowl symbolize "the dawn of a new era" in
Telluride. Please, take time to bask in Prospect Bowls' infinite
treasures.
Being in the midst of nature's wonders will surely give you a sense
of joy, peace and freedom. In light of our national events, such
pleasures become even more significant and cherished. Yet, as a
republic we stand united in sharing others' losses and cannot conceal
or completely let go of our concerns for the civilized world - even
if we are on vacation. It is our responsibility to stand steadfast,
keep informed and stay involved. With this, we are proud to focus
our profiles on business owners. They, after all, are the people
who drive our community and, in fact, the American economy forward.
TellurideStyle is also delighted to bring you into the world of
Telluride's signature skiers - Scott Kennett, Pancho Winter, Jay
Bombardieri and C.J. "Turbo" Turner. These guys are some
of the leading "edgers" or top guns in the ski industry.
Scotty's in Warren Miller's movie, Cold Fusion, which features our
fabulous ski resort. Turbo, the Rocketman, has made headlines in
several national ski publications. Pancho and Jay will debut their
mogul program this season through Telluride Ski School. Often dubbed
the hardest ski mountain in North America, these men will make "bumpin"
seem like a walk in the park, when you enroll in their Mogul Clinics.
The visionaries and driving forces behind Telluride Ski & Golf
Company kindly reveal their "lighter sides" in The Good
Fellows article. Unbeknownst to many, Allred, Wells and Flatt aren't
only incredibly astute businessmen that were instrumental in making
Telluride one of America's top resorts, but they have been best
friends for nearly half-a-century. The value they place on friendship
speaks volumes about their characters. Current COO of Telski, Johnnie
Stevens, states that it is unique and even welcoming to know the
Telluride resort and Mountain Village were spearheaded, molded and
nurtured under an auspicious spirit of camaraderie.
With pleasure, we bring you numerous other personalities who help
create the dynamic vibes of our quaint Victorian town. Unquestionably,
everyone featured and every business included in TellurideStyle
Magazine adds to Telluride's distinctive style.
CHEERS! LET FREEDOM RING - FOREVER.
