Publisher's
Notes Summer 1995
For the premier issue of TellurideStyle® magazine we went to
our copy of 21st Century Book of Quotations and found Ralph Waldo
Emerson's phrase, "The reward of a thing well done is to have
done it," was fitting. It aptly depicts Jeff and myself, owners
of this and three other Colorado publications. From concept to completion,
we've done it all - ad sales, production, researching, writing,
typesetting, editing, layout, design, prepress, billing, distribution
and management. It's not always that we had to, but rather that
we have a passion and a will to learn each and every aspect of the
advertising and publishing business.
We desire to be the best at what we do, so we can provide the best
possible product for our readers and advertisers. For certain, we've
made mistakes, some silly, some economical and some down right embarrassing.
But as Oscar Wilde stated, "Experience is simply the name we
give our mistakes." Experience calibrates your adventurous
side; it provokes your inner most desires. If you know what you
are doing, you can be daring. Being risk takers and astute listeners
of community concerns, we merged two publications (Telluride In-Room
Guest Directory® and Telluride Menu Magazine®) to form TellurideStyle.
Allowing us to fulfill a professional goal while, at the same time,
offering advertisers a significantly higher readership and better
value for their advertising dollar.
Though a natural evolution for us professionally, TellurideStyle
would never have befallen if it wasn't for the tremendous support
of Telluride businesses. It is our "partnership" with
Telluride and the outlying communities that made this publication
possible. Each and every one of the advertisers in this publication
have grown with us over the years. They have given us the trust
and valuable feedback we needed to make each issue better. We in
turn, earnestly try to make our clients' phones ring through strong
distribution, guaranteed circulation and an undeniable competitive
rate structure.
This type of synergism has dynamic business influences for all
concerned. From an editorial standpoint, TellurideStyle's targeted
readership is everybody who comes in contact with or is enchanted
by mountain living - locals, visitors, prospective homeowners, festival
goers, adventure sport enthusiasts. Please notice the rich balance
of visual and written, historic and present, indoor and outdoor;
from current events and concerns to comprehensive business listings
to detailed town, hiking and biking maps, TellurideStyle features
Telluride, Colorado's most noteworthy. Please sit back, relax and
travel with us through the pages of TellurideStyle. |
